During the recent Twitch Super Bowl Tournament, a streamer was caught cheating to get some easy kills. NickEh30 cheated with his partner by landing outside the tournament zone to sneak behind enemy squads and only receiving a warning from tournament officials in exchange. Considering the winning team got to choose a charity for $500,000 in donations to go to, cheating here is a bit more disturbing compared to your average game of Fortnite. Fortnite is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Mobile for free now.
Clips of the Twitch Super Bowl Tournament showed that NickEh30 led his partner to the restricted zone by encouraging them and saying "tt's okay; we get a warning." The charity event included well known streamers like Tfue and TimTheTatman and NFL players such as JuJu Smith-Schuster and D.K. Metcalf who teamed up to take on others like NickEh30. Fortnite Reddit fans have expressed their displeasure in the cheating during the event since the tournament and it's unlikely that NickEh30 will be invited to return for the next Twitch charity stream.
Fortnite tournaments like the Super Bowl Tournament are a great way to bring together big names in streaming, sports, etc. to spread awareness about charities and esports. Epic has done a great job with spreading awareness, including a recent crossover event with the Red Cross. We hope that big charity events like these aren't continuously marred by cheating so that the right people win and donate the winnings to the charity of their choice. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 beings on February 20th, bringing with it several changes to the battle royale, including the Unreal Engine Chaos physics system.
