‘Fortnite’ Players On Pace To Lose A Free Wrap From Autumn Queen’s Community Quest

In the spirit of togetherness, Epic has issued a large community challenge for players over Thanksgiving weekend here. They’re Fortnite players to band together to earn points through specific actions that will ultimately unlock the Autumn Queen Animated Fallen Leaf Wrap, which will be free for everyone if certain goals are hit.

At least right now, players are….not exactly on pace to hit the goal.

Fortnite is asking for 2,500,000 points by Sunday, December 1 at 8 PM, which is about 2.5 days from now, and this has already been running since yesterday morning.

Players are currently at just 386,000 points at the time of this writing, meaning they are going to have to significantly pick up the pace in order to hit the mark by Sunday night.

You earn points in only three ways:

1 point â€" Healing a teammate with a Bandage Bazooka, Epic’s favorite weapon this season

2 points â€" Reviving a teammate

5 points â€" Playing a game with a teammate, so in theory if you’re playing with a full squad that’s 20 points earned right there

And that’s it, that’s all you can do to make progress. Kills or wins don’t mean anything for this challenge as it’s all about healing and friendship. How nice.

Being sub 400,000 points with 2.5 days to go does not strike me as ideal, but I suppose yesterday was the holiday where many players were at least attempting to spend time with family instead of playing Fortnite, and the next three days of the holiday break could result in a whole lot more play time, meaning the pace of this should increase.

I also harbor a sneaking suspicion that games that have big community challenges may also boost the numbers if they’re falling short to make sure the goals are reached, so I wouldn’t rule out that happening if need be here. Worst case, the community does fail and they end up selling this wrap in the store or something, but my guess is that it will be unlocked the natural way in the next three days, even if we are getting off to a slow start here.

You can actually track exactly how many points the community has at this site here, which will update with new numbers every time you refresh it, which makes it pretty much live stats. I’ll update this post as the weekend goes on, so check back here.
